Vision of Coming Revival to America
by Robert D Pace
(Some years back, the Lord gave me a vision of America’s coming revival. I invite you to pray, discern, and even leave your comments.)
It’s now 2021, and there has been rapid advancement of a far-left political agenda that has unsettled many Christians. And rightly so! But where should we anchor our hopes? A political party? Culture? Numerous “prophetic” voices have collectively asserted that America shall rise above political differences, reunite, reclaim its destiny, and excel as that “shining city seated upon a hill.” Is this what Christians can truly expect? Will America rehabilitate itself? What is the future for America in these “last days”?
On Tuesday, September 30, 2014, the Lord took me into an intense time of prayer that brought forth a vision. As I was deeply moved, the Holy Spirit showed me a former anointing and a coming anointing that regarded America. The former anointing concerned America’s Second Great Awakening (1790-1810). It was a move of God that catapulted from the church into the American government and culture. Its impact brought the abolition of slavery, the cessation of child labor, and prison reform. This is likely the greatest social revolution begotten of the Holy Spirit in America’s history. However, as this vision unfolded, the Lord showed me that the attributes of the Second Great Awakening will not recur in America’s forthcoming spiritual outpouring. In other words, I saw that the coming revival will not include a social reformation in America. Let me explain:
“Unlike, but Greater Than”
While I do not foresee America re-experiencing a cultural and political transformation born of the Spirit, I most definitely foresee America experiencing a wondrous, even unprecedented, revival! It will sweep from coast to coast and surpass all revivals of America’s past. In other words, America’s coming revival will be “unlike, but greater than” anything heretofore! Here’s what I mean:
In tandem with the vision the Lord gave me in 2014 of the coming revival, the Lord had also spoken to me twenty years earlier in 1992. Here is what the Holy Spirit said:
“The coming revival destined for America will mightily transform America’s church. But while the glory of God upon the church will be visible for all to see, America’s institutions will remain unchanged! This move of God shall be rejected by government and culture even though the church glows brightly with the glory of God!”
Perhaps the essence of that prophecy startles you. It should! Nobody wants to admit America’s finest days are over. American Christians want to know there is a wonderful future prepared for their country. But let me explain what makes this prophetic word interesting: although the coming revival will be unlike the Second Great Awakening, I am convinced that it will eclipse it. Thus, it will be “Unlike, but Greater Than”! But how is this possible? Is there a Biblical precedent for America’s next great awakening? Yes!
The revival God has prepared for America will resemble revival in the book of Acts! Two thousand years ago, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon New Testament Believers brought an unrivaled move of God. But despite the preponderance of converts, signs, wonders, and miracles the Roman government and the Jewish hierarchy stood defiantly against it. Christians were marginalized, imprisoned, persecuted, and burned at the stake. Even while the flames of revival grew intensely, the world system fought this revival with all its might! It was during this time that Rome invaded the Middle East, burned Jerusalem, and crushed the Jewish nation. Christians and Jews fled for their lives! Thus, it is evident that a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit can sweep over the church while government and culture reject its blessing.
But while the American culture ignores, rejects, and even fights this coming move of God, nothing will prevent its outbreak! The day is coming when the church in America will be transformed and burn brighter than ever! Heaven’s hosts will watch in wonder as the Holy Spirit arises to differentiate between the righteous and the unrighteous. Thus, Christians will march through the last days in triumph, anticipating Christ’s Return!
