GOD APPRAISES SUCCESS

Devotionals, POINT OF INSPIRATION

Robert D. Pace

Human nature drives people to succeed. While the pursuit of human achievement is a compelling force, success alone does not truly measure a man’s stature before God. That’s because God does not calculate success in proportion to our achievements or the accumulation of our wealth or the admiration we attract from others. And neither does sacrifice, benevolence, or martyrdom quantify success with God. Jesus prescribed an unvarnished simplicity to success when He said, “Not everyone that says, “Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he that does the will of My Father.” And what is the Heavenly Father’s Will? The answer to that question is subjective and something only you can determine because God reveals His specific Will to each Christian. The key is this: Commit to God’s plan for you. Despite what others think, following God’s plan is all that matters. Heaven is where God will appraise your work and measure your success.
